The Broadway Chorus is thrilled to present this song-and-dance musical revue in two acts, where we’ll whisk from upbeat, toe-tapping dance numbers to heartfelt ballads that'll get the tears a-flowing, in this eclectic show promises a little something for everyone.
In the hilarious first act (One Day) we visit the world’s most dysfunctional office, Scorpio & Son’s Fine Floor Wax Manufacturers. Working girls vie for promotions, knowing “When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It,” while the down-trodden men insist “I Want to Be a Producer.” Almost everyone agrees “I Wish I Could Go Back to College,” or at they very least, return “Home.” Fantasy and reality collide in this hilarious send-up of the work environment.
In the moving second act (One Life) the Chorus performs songs from every stage of life, from birth to death (and beyond!) We’ll grow up (“Hello Twelve, Hello Thirteen”), fall in love (“I Can Hear the Bells”), raise children (“Stop Time”), and ultimately realize “What a Wonderful Way to Die!”
We'll be performing songs from Wicked, Avenue Q, The Producers, and from dozens of other great Broadway shows.
Since 1999, the Broadway Chorus has been a rarity among musical groups in Vancouver, representing every age, profession and level of talent and making musical theatre accessible to anyone who wants to have fun. Audiences should not expect to see pretty voices standing still and singing – there are a lot of other choirs out there which fill that gap. We're the lively, loud folk!
